This site is operated by BR Fares Ltd. This page details the cases where potentially personally-identifiable data supplied directly by you or provided to us as a side-effect of your browsing the site may be subject to any processing or storage, and gives details of how to revoke consent for this (where possible). If you have any questions about this privacy policy, you may contact us with them by e-mail on info@brfares.com. This privacy policy was last updated on 26 March 2023.
We keep standard server logs which log the following parameters relating to individual web requests:
historically for use in analysing long-term usage trends and/or establishing extremely heavy and unreasonable use of the site.
None of this information is personally identifiable except in the very rare case that you have your own personally-assigned IP address and have publicly registered your personal details at one of the central internet registries (e.g. RIPE). You are free to redact or hide this information if you do not wish your IP address to be personally identifiable. It is not possible to opt out of sending your IP address to us, as it is strictly necessary for us to be able to reply to your requests for web pages on the site.
The logs of web requests are not particularly useful for establishing the number of human visitors to the site over a defined period. We have a legitimate interest in establishing this information as it may be necessary to supply it to business partners. We use Google Analytics to obtain this information. In order to use this we store a cookie containing a randomly-generated ID in your browser and pass details of this with your IP address to Google, along with details of page views (similar to that stored in the server logs as noted above). The analysis of page views is entirely anonymous.
The information from Google Analytics is helpful to us, however if you wish you may opt out from having your browsing data anonymously shared with Google by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (available for all major browsers).
We use the Google Adsense service to place advertisements on the site. This raises vital revenue to support continued operation. The revenue generated is maximised if you consent to personally-targetted advertising: this means that the third party advertising networks (including but not limited to Google) may make decisions on which adverts to display based on your previous visits to this and other websites. This is achieved through the use of cookies which are stored in your browser and may be used to track your web browsing behaviour across multiple sites, as well as web beacons which may be used to retrieve information about your web browser configuration (but only information that is freely shared).
It would be very much appreciated if you consent to the use of cookies for personally-targetted advertising in the dialog boxes displayed to you as part of the site's transparency and consent framework (TCF, operated by Google). Optionally you may also opt out of personalised advertising directly on Google's Ads Settings page.
You may also view a list of the third party advertising networks which we use to supply adverts via Google Adsense in our TCF dialog. There you may also affirm or revoke your consent for information sharing with each advertising network separately, should you so wish.
This site depends on advertising revenue to fund its existence, and your co-operation in consenting to the advertising cookies would be gratefully appreciated, however the site will still function as normal even if you revoke consent.
